Design Wall Monday

My design wall is only a little different from Wednesday. I have two borders appliquéd with two to go. I did get one more string block completed and a sample rose log cabin block. Check out the other design walls at Judy’s blog.

Not on the wall is this quilt I am now calling Baskets and Lace:

I put in some time on Saturday stitching the batting together and then the backing. I had planned to start quilting on Sunday but DH surprised me with plans to return to Pensacola for brunch and time at the beach. We had a wonderful time. And we got to watch lots of other people having a great time, too: lots of laughing going on all around us. At the beach the water was clear, the sky was blue, the temp was mild with a cool breeze and there were even dolphins going by. Who could ask for more?

What a great day at the beach! Weather here is nuts....near 90 on Saturday and now today lucky if it reaches 65. HATE that kind of bouncing around temp!!!

Applique borders are so pretty. Heck, the quilt (forgot name) on the long arm is even prettier. Thanks for sharing.

Those spur of the moment trips are usually the best.

That is a delightful pincushion on your design wall.

I agree, the free motion quilting really sets off those blocks. I'm sorry to hear about your tension problems. you seem to take it in stride!

Good Luck with those house projects and thanks for sharing your progress. I've found that I tend to get a little more done when I know I'm going to blog about it, you may get more done than you think.
