I am so excited. This is the new BOM from FatcatPatterns. And it is in addition to the fish BOM she has going. Well, I collect hollow glass owls and then some other owls as well and I just couldn’t pass this one up. This little owl is block 1. And to add to the craziness of all the BOMs I am working on, I am thinking about doing two owl quilts with the other one in “funky” colors. That idea will have to wait. Anyway, this is the only thing that is on my design wall at the moment.
This has been what has taken up most of my quilting time. And this is how I left Easy Street Sunday night. I think I am a little over halfway done with the quilting.
I am quilting it with a panto from Urban Elementz, Tapestry. I like the texture.
But it is funny that it really can only be seen on the borders and the back. In case I haven’t mentioned it, this quilt is 101” square and one of the largest quilts I have done. And now that it is almost done, I am really liking it more and more.
Saturday I took some time off from quilting and we did a little antiquing, something we like to do a lot. Anyway, the only thing we bought was this pin. Isn’t she beautiful? The face is hand painted porcelain and the gems are Swarovski Crystals and swing freely. I am wearing it as a pendant and feel quite elegant.
My plans for this week are to finish the quilting on Easy Street and to put borders on a charity quilt I have had on the back burner for far too long. I also have to take the stitches out of a section of the dragon. It seems that my basting didn’t hold the applique pieces tight enough on the background and it moved enough to leave wrinkles. So out will come the stitches around the wrinkles and then I will secure that section with pins, the kind that stick. My new plan is now that I will pin each section as I come to it and hopefully no more wrinkles.
I am connection with Patchwork Times and What a Hoot.

Love the owl! That's going to be another fun quilt. So you've got the air and the sea going, maybe you should try for a land creature BOM too?
Cute owl! Good to see an Easy Street almost done too.
Those owls are so cute - your fabric choices are great. I may have to do one or two or....more. Love your Easy Street!
That Owl is just adorable. Love the easy street and the panto you're using.
What a cute little owl. Your Easy Street is coming along and before you know it, it will be quilted, bound and finished!! Good for you.
Love the quilting on Easy Street!!! I need to check out those pantos. Love the owl. And that pin! I want it. ;) Makes me want to hit the thrift stores.
Whoopee! Easy Street is almost done -- for some people, that is. Yours looks great. I haven't seen that panto yet, but I use Urban Elementz too. I too collect owls, but not fancy ones. That is one handsome guy. I may have to look into that BOM when I'm not busy. Ha ha. Your pendant is very elegant. Wonder it Cleopatra would have worn one?? You are doing great projects. Have a happy week stitching.
That pin is gorgeous! And so is your Easy Street - love the colors you picked. Such a cute owl - off to check out FatCat.
Your owl is so cute. So many possibilities with this pattern! I love your Easy Street--that is a "big" one. Looks like you have been busy and having fun.
oh, what an adorable owl!
That owl is so ADORABLE. :D You have the best fabrics for these projects. And I don't wonder that you're liking your Easy Street more and more - its colors are gorgeous and the quilting is a fun pattern.
Love the owl. It is wonderful. My granddaughter wanted one. Kathleen
I just this morning went ahead and bought the whole pattern for the owls. My granddaughter-in-law loves owls so I thought I would make this for her. It is sooo cute. I use so many of fat cat's free patterns, thought I might pay for one, lol.
Oh Gari I'm not sure what I like the most, the owl makes me want to reproduce him straight away he is so so cute, your broach I'm very envious of, and you colours in your quilt are lovely and the quilting shows up beautifully in the boarders. It was so visiting you and seeing every thing. Cheers Glenda Down Under
